Finding a trek within your city
Trekking is also one of the ways to improve Effective Intelligence. I will advice students to go for trek at least once in a fortnight. This exercise helps us in more ways than one in our SSB interview.
- Google your area of residence and decide a destination you would like to trek. Do not waste time on places which are far from your residence.
- Decide the distance you wish to cover and then plan for the trek on a suitable day and time.
During the trek, you just cannot go back nor can you stay mid-way. You will have the option of taking an Ola or a cab but resist it. The long distance on foot will give you a renewed faith in your determination whether you reach in 2 hours or 4 hours. Reaching the checkpoints gives your brain both the tastes of empowerment and relaxation. It channelises the blood circulation and makes you thoughtful and creative. Stay in the moment, click a picture, breathe in the fresh air. It’s the journey that’s more important than the destination. It is not about how fast you get there, but the experiences on the way that count. After every trek, you will turn way more mature and stronger person – physically and mentally.
- Come out of your comfort zone
- Take a couple of friends along
- Plan what to carry in your shoulder bag: Water, fruits, hand towel, cash etc.
