Answer by Cdr Rathore:
Purpose of the Interview: The interviewer assesses suitability of the candidate for the Armed Forces. Hence, the interviewer must assess 15 OLQ’s during the interview. The life events and the actions taken by the candidate till he appears in the interview give a full insight into the personality profile of the candidate. However, any personality is dynamic and keeps changing. If a candidate is improving with time, the interviewer wants to ascertain that and confirm the exact level of the OLQs.
Let us examine an answer. Students need to remember that here we will only be discussing content. Whereas, during the interview, the tone and body language also reflects the level of OLQs.
Sir, I am confident that I will get recommended this time because, I was able to do well in all the psychology tests. Though, I could have written better stories, phrased better sentences in WAT and with better management of time, I could have done completed almost all SRT’s. Similarly, in GTO, better knowledge and quick response could have improved my performance in Group Discussions, GPE and Lecturette. I need to be much better physically because I was able to contribute in the outdoor tasks, but I could have repeated a couple of individual obstacles.
Hence, if I look back, I am satisfied with my effort in the tests, but I need to keep working on my shortcomings, till I see my name in the merit list. I will be increasing time I give to SSB preparation.
